Here is the Apple iPhone to save us all until next time
If you take a look at the BBC Radio 6 Adam and Joe's slot and their take on mobile phone ring tones it is very funny.
I suppose it is similar to mobile phones and the Apple iPhone you can live without it, and you've lived without it up until now but now you must have one! Ring tones don't need to be obnoxious and loud and ultimately are useless but be have them none the less. And that is like the iPhone. It is not 3G yet but it does not have to be. People queued for miles to be the first, outside the apple stores in London, New York and around the world to get ahold on the latest fashion accessory. And you've got to admit it has style and elegance and is fast and cheap for a mobile phone that does a lot Now that there has been a price cut they have sold out in many places in the UK. And 'what' I hear you say, gadgets selling out are for Nintendo Wiis or Sony PSPs and PS3 --not mobile phones surely?
The iPhone is because it is from Apple, as legendary maker now of electronic stuff and mobile phones was the next logical step. The 8GB and 16GB models are what it comes in and both have the 3 1/2 inch display and integrates into your PC or Mac with no worries. There is the issue with O2 and its exclusive hold on the iPhone.
But there is another way. Unlock it and use it with the network Orange or T mobile --a good idea. It is legal and well within your rights. The issue is with software updates and when you update the phone , you will have to unlock it again, but that is no problem really as the unlocking instructions are simple and well worth the discount when you compare the T mobile network combi tariff to the other O2 tariffs available.
Of course it is done that way with O2 and Apple to simply make money and cash in on the iPhone. But anyone who is smart enough will get the cashback as well and bypass O2 and get a smile on your face as well. The deal mentioned above is for the Nokia 2600 and that is not an outstanding handset like the apple iphone, but it does not have to be. Get the cashback on the deal and sell on the Nokia 2600 and keep the iPhone --simple or sell on the iPhone to anyone. Another simple solution to the mobile phone game played out by o2 and Apple. Beat them at their own game and get your hands on the iPhone and the tariff you want , not the tariff that O2 is trying to flog to you at a high price. You could even stay on your same network plan and sell the Nokia 2600 to someone else and they'll get a get mobile phone deal as well from t mobile or orange -- with orange wednesdays. I can imagine talking on my iPhone in the cinemas very smugly and proud of the fact that I have the iPhone and you don't!
You'll look back at the iPhone as time goes by and wish you bought one.
