Not your fathers video recorder -this is a DV camcorder for the 21st century...
Do you remember the old VHS camcorder (if you can call them a camcorder) that people used in the 80's? They were the weight of a house brick and not very attractive as well. A completely opposite situation to the JVC Mini DV Camcorder as sleek, small and fantastic little video recorder / cam-corder for today's people. I think camcorders went out of fashion a little in the early 00's, as they were still as little too expensive and it was the beginning of the digital era for home entertainment. People still had VHS video tape 'in those's days' and DVD was only beginning to take out. Now it is a different story. We all have DVD and it is easy enough to record TV shows onto Hard-Disk-Drive / HDD straight off and re-schedule shows etc. So it is time to bring back the DVD recorder -or rather, should i say enter the DV camcorder. Although they have been around for a while they have come down in price a lot
So there are a few different options in this call. You may be thinking DVD on this one, but MiniDV has a few better options. For one the compression is faster and the video quality is of a greater standard MPEG-2. the bits per second for MPEG-2 is about 8.5Mbps and the MiniDV is a whopping 25!!
So specifically the JVC GR-D770US MiniDV Camcorder is a quality item. the 2.7" LCD display. And low-and-behold a 34 times zoom lens --ill be peter jackson in no time flat. The battery has been revised as well offering better recharge time with the revised battery.
Were you thinking about the need for digital photos? Well the JVC GR D770US has it covered with the ability to take digital still images while recording.
These high tech gadgets are a bite nostalgic for me as I've mentioned above the concept to big in the 1980's but it is only now that we are seeing that fulfilled with the perfection of the technology --the lenses, the ability to store great amounts of data on the tapes and convert the format to a PC for editing.
If you're in the UK, Beepy is giving these little babies away with mobile phones on contract. Not to the mention the Apple iPhone that are being sold WITH the mobile phone as well on many handset deals on Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, and many other handset makes with the network Three 3, Orange (from the people who brought you the Canary 30 and Orange Wednesdays) and T Mobile. All are great networks with offers on at the moment that cannot be missing.
If you're in the US I have a link for you as well here
To be honest I think I am going to develop a urning to below a film director, or at least try my hand at the funny video submissions that are going on in the land of YouTube and put out a video for the world to see. Video content on your mobile phone is one thing. But a fully dedicated video recording system with its own digital tapes is the way to go really. I remember all those hollywood movies that used the home video system and put it to good use. And now it is my turn. You'll soon be watching all the mega-pixels flying out of the LCD TV I have and become a little closer to all the film directors I admire so much.
